Tree lighting party rings in holiday season with singing reality TV celeb
Rain or shine, hellish hot or freezing cold, Houstonians aren't the type to miss a good party just because Mother Nature may get in the way. For the 94th Mayor's Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting Presented by Reliant, an estimated 15,000 locals joined in for the musical celebration that officially welcomed the spirit of all December festivities despite the threat of precipitation.
The outdoor winter wonderland scene in front of Houston City Hall, bedecked with sparkling lights and themed decorations, included a tuneful stage that hosted Cypress-native and 2013 winner of NBC's The Voice Danielle Bradbery. Adding to the festive ambiance were performances by the Winter Wonderettes, the KIPP Sharp Singers and Marcie Chapa and the MacArthur Jammin' Generals Drum Line.
With December being packed with social affairs, you may have missed this al fresco concert. Thankfully, Houston's Voice contributors were on site capturing all the fun.
