Footage of Chris Gray's public heart attack released: Reveals Good Samaritansand lots of EMS
Chris Gray has more people to thank for his safety than he might have imagined. In late October, the Houston Press music editor suffered a heart attack during his commute to work, collapsing on the tracks at a METRORail station.
A surveillance video released by METRO on Thursday shows the chain of events that followed — bystanders lifting Gray from the tracks and calling for help, nearby METRO Police Department officers taking action, and more police and medical crews arriving to the site as other commuters and passersby mill around the station.
The scene is eerie, a chilling reminder of what might have happened if the timing was even a little off. You can watch it here.
METRO is utilizing the footage to re-touch on the Chain of Survival and to remind citizens to remain alert and engaged in situations like this one.
Gray is now at home and well, according to his brother John Gray. Houston Press reported in early November that a benefit was in the works.
