From Madonna's Creative Director
Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil to meet in Houston
Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour with Cirque du Soleil is hitting Houston in February 2012 — and tickets will go on sale more than a year in advance. The highly anticipated international tour, which will begin in Montreal in October 2011, is written and directed by Emmy-award winning director/choreographer Jamie King as a tribute to the deceased pop star.
King has spent the last 12 years as Madonna's creative director and worked with major artists including Rihanna, Celine Dion, the Spice Girls and Britney Spears. It will be his first collaboration with Cirque du Soleil.
Michael Jackson's catalogue and Cirque's famous choreography figure to make the Feb. 10, 2012 show at the Toyota Center an in-demand ticket. The show will incorporate Jackon's more famous moves and transform them with Cirque's abstract dance and acrobatics. Themes include nature, music, dance, fairy tales and magic.
Tickets go on sale Saturday to the general public at noon; you can purchase them here or by calling 1-866-4-HOU-TIX. CirqueClub members and MichaelJackson.com subscribers are able to buy tickets starting today.
Tickets range in price from $50-$250.
