White House swapping "scandal": Why won't the Hillary-Joe Biden rumors end?
Politics are so fickle.
Obama's Wars author Bob Woodward has again ignited rumors of a switcheroo between Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden come the 2012 election.
First of all, no thanks. And second, haven't we heard this before?
Luckily, multiple White House officials are (again) negging the idea. Senior aide David Axelrod tells the Washington Post, "The president is blessed to have a spectacular vice president and an outstanding secretary of state. They're both doing great work, and he wants them on the job."
Hillary herself also rejected the claim that it was "on the table." She told the Most Powerful Women Summit in D.C. "I have absolutely no interest and no reason for doing anything other than just dismissing these stories and moving on."
Woodward turning to such dated gossip for the sake of book sales is akin to tabloids constantly resorting to the same rumors to sell covers: Oprah's gay with Gayle; Beckham beds hookers . . .
On second thought, should we be worried?
What do you think — is it a case of lazy publicity mongering or where there's smoke, there's fire?
