Sex, lies and memory cards
Married woman blackmailed with sex tape in a real-life Houston Fatal Attractioncase
What seemed to be a random barroom hookup turned into a nightmare of sex and obsession this summer for one married Houston woman, whose story is now making its way through the city courts in a bizarre blackmail case.
The Houston Police Department tells CultureMap that a 41-year-old man named Le Q. Hung was arrested Monday night on charges that he secretly recorded the woman while the two had sex in various area motels.
Le made a surprise appearance at her workplace and proceeded to follow the woman home, where he threatened to assault her husband if she ended the coerced relationship.
According to recent Harris County legal documents, Le used the videos to convince the woman to continue having sex with him for approximately two months. If she chose to break off the tryst, he told her he would show the footage to her husband and her co-workers.
When the woman attempted to stop seeing Le, he made a surprise appearance at her workplace and proceeded to follow her home, where he allegedly threatened to assault her husband if she ended the coerced relationship.
On July 27, Le called the woman at work and demanded that she meet him at his new apartment near the intersection of Bellaire Boulevard and Dairy-Ashford. Hoping to retrieve the videos and end the blackmail once and for all, she accepted.
Upon her arrival, Le wanted more sex. When the woman denied him, the man went haywire, according to court documents:
He immediately pulled out a black gun and pointed at her head and stated that he knew where her husband works . . . [H]e would kill him, her child, [the woman] and then shoot himself if she refused to continue having sex with him. The defendant told the complainant that he has only one life and he does not care."
After the incident, the woman told officials that she pretended to go along with Le's demands. He took her to eat at the Hibachi Grill on Westheimer, where she was able to convince him to turn over a memory card and two DVDs. Le reminded her that he had more footage on his computer. The woman returned home after the meal and called the police.
Held in an HPD jail on a $2,000 bond, Le faces charges for improper photography/visual recording and aggravated assault.
