River Oaks French furniture store suddenly shutters, Ligne Roset nationalwonders what's going on
Ligne Roset, the French contemporary furniture store, is no longer a local option for those looking to outfit their homes with sleek, handmade and expensive furniture.
Both the Houston and Austin Ligne Roset stores suddenly closed and there isn’t much information as to why from the national head of the company. Roset's national spokesperson Erik Perez told CultureMap that Roset USA is following up and fulfilling all orders placed. Perez also said the company is working on obtaining more details from local dealer Bruce Wolfe, who owned both the Houston and Austin locations.
The Houston Ligne Roset was in the River Oaks Shopping Center on West Gray.
In a 2009 Houston Business Journal article, Wolfe discussed opening a two-story, 6,000-square-foot showroom at West Ave, the multi-purpose venue at the corner of Kirby and Westheimer. The store was slated to house the Ligne Roset line as well as three others.
Interestingly, West Ave is set to announce new retailers headed to the center later this week. Shoppers in the market for architecturally savvy furniture will have to get their fix in Dallas, the last Texas location.
