We'll all float on: Port of Houston tugboats to be featured on a U.S. postagestamp
How do you know you've really made it? Why, you get your busiest seaport on a United States postage stamp, that's how.
We're here to inform you, Houston, that by golly, we think we've made it now.
Come next fall, you'll be seeing something very familiar in the upper right-hand corner of those envelopes you're tossing into the recycle bin.
No, not your run-of-the-mill 44-cent stamp. But a scene we all know and love dearly — the Port of Houston.
Yes, our very own near and dear ship channel will be featured on a postage stamp, "Tugboats in the Port of Houston." The stamp, showcasing an aerial photograph of our sexy seaway, will grace a collection of 15 artistic natural, agricultural and urban viewpoints in the Earthscapes stamp pane in October 2012.
A government-issued hometown hallmark. We can't wait to lick it and stick it with pride.
