The infamous big-game hunting Texas Tech cheerleader was in Houston over the weekend, this time smiling for photo ops with admiring fans — and not dead animals.
Kendall Jones, who drew national attention — and criticism, even death threats — made her first public appearance Saturday since June. That's when the 19-year-old posted numerous photos on her Facebook page of herself with exotic animals she had killed while on a hunting safari in Africa.
Those photos of Jones smiling next to her kills met with outrage from animal rights activists.
On Sunday, Jones signed autographs and posed for photos at the Texas Trophy Hunter Association Hunting Extravaganza at NRG Park.
The hunting cheerleader did not give any media interviews, KHOU reports.

PETA president Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement, "Ms. Jones’ social-media accounts show that her only interest is in slaughtering wildlife for a cheap thrill and in a desperate quest to secure a macabre reality show" and "claiming that hunting somehow helps animal populations is as ridiculous as saying that killing people is a solution to world hunger."
Kendall's father, Cody Jones, told KHOU all their kills are permitted and the meat is donated to local villages. Jones' own Facebook page indicates she is looking to host a TV show in January 2015.
She is also launching a new website, "Kendall Jones: Follow Your Arrow," which is still under construction.
