A news update
Galerie Mado Chalvet, the small closed art gallery next door to Agora coffee house, was engulfed in flames early Tuesday morning.
A helicopter hovered overhead a little after 6 a.m. and emergency vehicles could be seen rushing toward the intersection of Dunlavy and Westheimer. The intersection was still blocked at 8 a.m.
The fire comes almost nine months after another fire occurred at that corner with Agora coffee house. That fire decimated next door Antique Warehaus/Turningleaf Furniture.
KTRK Channel 13 reports that firefighters have described this latest blaze as "suspicious" and arson investigators are involved. No deaths or injuries have been reported; the building had been vacant several months at the time of the fire. Agora does not appear to have been damaged.
