Masquerade party hosted by Mathew Knowles launches countdown to Houston's Random Act of Kindness Day: The party at Music World Entertainment's historic Rice Mansion in Midtown served as a 40th birthday celebration for philanthropists Angela and Mike James and as a fundraiser for the Mike James Scholarship Foundation and for Covenant House. It also touted the city-sanctioned Random Act of Kindness Day, set for July 25.
Amy Schumer and Aziz Ansari headline Oddball Comedy fest, and it's coming to Houston: Funny or Die's annual Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival has brought some big-name comedians to Houston the past few years, and 2015 will be even bigger with Trainwreck star Schumer and Ansari, whose has received raves for his new book Modern Romance, as headliners when the tour stops at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
