Bayou boat tours reveal Houston's underground world — those bats are just the beginning
There's perhaps nothing more quintessentially Houston than a boat ride down Buffalo Bayou, spotting the bats as they fly from the Waugh Street Bridge, watching the sunset play off of the murky waters, swatting at mosquitos as dusk descends.
CultureMap editor-in-chief Clifford Pugh took KHOU Ch. 11 News to see the sights on a pontoon tour with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership for a CultureMap Moment.
The boat tours, which range in price from $7-$40 per person, provide a surprisingly serene view into downtown and an unexpected glimpse of Houston's flora and fauna — and from foodie floats to twilight tours to history lessons, these are a number of opportunities for anyone wanting to experience the Bayou City.
