Get Carried Away
Cue the cosmos: Sex and the City celebrations are already starting all overHouston
Grab your Manolos! The movie isn't out until Thursday, but buzz is mounting for the Sex and the City 2 premiere. If you, like me, are using opening night as an excuse to dress to the nines and drink pretentious cocktails, do it here:
Carrie Ann Boutique — If you need a refresher on what the fab four have been up to since the last film, come watch the first movie in Uptown Park at Carrie Ann Boutique tonight. Dress as you like for drinks, snacks and wild speculation about what surprises SATC 2 has in store. (A 25 percent discount doesn't hurt, either). 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Tiny Boxwoods — Edward and Enid Sanchez are playing host for an event benefitting Citizens for Animal Protection Wednesday. Forty dollars gets you hors d'oeurvres, bellinis, mimosas and tickets to a midnight showing. 9 to 11 p.m. (E-mail edward@edwardsanchezcosmetics.com to reserve).
Coquette and the City — Montrose's Coquette's Thursday preview celebration will feature a psychic, Moroccan cuisine in keeping with the ladies' travels abroad, complementary makeovers and, of course, cosmos. 6 to 9 p.m.
Flemings' Ultimate Girls' Night Out — Come by Fleming's Woodlands location Thursday for mini hair makeovers, a Saks-sponsored Chanel make-up lesson and a Dannini jewelry showcase. 6 to 8 p.m.
Ruth's Chris Viewing Party — Prefer heartier munchables? Head to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on Richmond Saturday for a pre-screening viewing party and then catch the 7 p.m. showtime at Edwards Greenway. Tickets are $50. Begins at 5 p.m.
Pink Night Out at Hotel Sorella — Busy this week? Catch the movie Tuesday, June 1 for a special cause at Hotel Sorella. A $100 tickets gets you a selection of Vintners Own cocktails, a fashion show, Sothby's "glamovers" by Beautique and a post-movie after party at Monnalisa bar. 5:30 p.m. to close. The evening benefits the Pink Ribbons Project.
