Why is it so hard to explain $4 for a gallon of gas? Getting inside the Gashole
Apr 19, 2011 | 10:51 am
Can someone please remind me why we are occupying so many oil-rich countries? Because it certainly doesn't seem to be helping gas prices.
(Anyone who says it's because, out of the goodness of our own hearts, we're looking out for oppressed peoples can ride a unicorn off a cliff.)
So why exactly have gas prices rocketed to nearly $4 a gallon? Six states have already reached that mark and more seem sure to follow.
Experts say it's not that the dollar is weak, and climbing prices also can't be summed up by unrest abroad. It's hard to say, really — a question explored in a documentary to be released on DVD this week called Gashole.
