Giant shooting range aims to become date night central: Guns and love as the perfect match?
Everyone could use a little help finding something new to do. We live in Texas, so why not consider heading to a 14,000-square-foot building to go shoot guns with your loved (or liked) one?
Boyert Shooting Center on Westheimer has learned that its clients come in all different forms, and some of those forms include couples on dates. The shooting range even has something of a date night. On Wednesday nights, it's buy one range pass, get one free.
Boyert offers live fire simulators on site (i.e. not active fire like inside the lanes). This allows for talking and getting to know one another since it’s more intimate. There's nothing like earmuffs, protective eye wear and loud gun shots to get in the way of a nice conversation. The fire simulators range from a zombie extermination in a post-apocalyptic world where you’re aiming for the blood thirsty zombies that have overtaken the world to Wild Wild West shooting where you can channel your inner John Wayne.

But you cannot upload your ex’s photo — I already asked. The non-live fire range is great for those who may be hesitant about handling a live firearm and it's a more cost effective way to train (no ammo needed).
Pro-tip: Since there are only two live fire simulators, you may want to call ahead to reserve a spot, especially if you’re trying to impress someone. While you can’t drink wine on-site, this new shooting range is located on a good strip on Westheimer so you could hit up your favorite Mexican restaurant or sushi spot to complete the evening.
The center also offers a lot of other event nights (ladies night, senior happy hour, etc . . .) as well as CHL classes and has a huge firearm inventory which consists of products from Night Hawk, PARA, Ruger, Sig Sauer, Smith and Wesson, FNH, GLOCK, Heckler & Kock (HK), LWRC, Savage Arms, Daniel Defense, Remington, and Noveske.
