No Driving Mr. Daisy Situation
George Bush drives his wife Barbara to the hospital
George H.W. Bush is still a man's man at age 85. When his wife Barbara needed to be brought to the hospital Saturday for what a Bush spokesperson is calling "routine testing," the 41st president reportedly drove her there himself.
Hey, you try telling a former World War II hero and leader of the free world that he can't get behind the wheel anymore. If Morgan Freeman himself showed up at Bush's door, he'd get it slammed in his face.
Bush took his wife to Methodist Hospital in Houston, where she is expected to stay for a day or two as doctors try to determine what's made her feel sick for about a week. Jean Becker — H.W. Bush's former chief of staff — insisted that this was not an emergency situation.
Not that Herbert would have likely waited for an ambulance if it was one. He probably knows the route better than some snot-nosed punk 46-year-old anyways.
Here's hoping that Barbara Bush gets home quickly and H.W. never gives up his keys.
W. probably should turn in his own driver's license any day now though. It's a wonder, he hasn't rammed into a local Pizza Hut already.
