Eat, Shop & Play
Shopping deals, dog parties and exercise mania: CITYCENTRE ups its events game for spring
There is much more to CITYCENTRE than the fashion-forward boutiques, fine dining establishments and entertainment options that immediately meet the eye. Just take a look at the events calendar to see what's on deck: From exclusive shopping opportunities to group exercise, there's something for everyone at Houston's premier destination to live, work and play.
On Saturday, March 22, MD Anderson Regional Care Centers partners with LifeTime Athletic Club for Ride of a LifeTime. This event aims to promote cancer prevention through exercise and a healthy lifestyle—and what a better way to kick-start it than with a high-energy, two-hour stationary cycle class in the grassy plaza at CITYCENTRE, taught by LIFE TIME national premier cycle instructor Jeff Rosga.
But that's not all: The Ride of a Lifetime will be followed by a laser show and an hour-long public Zumba celebration, led by LIFE TIME instructors and featured instructor, Latin Grammy dancer and choreographer Roberto Cubias. Fun for the whole family includes an interactive Strikeout Cancer Art Wall and a free photo booth. Registration is $55, which includes an MD Anderson Regional Care Centers and LIFE TIME cycle jersey. Space is limited to 300 participants. For more information and to register, click here.

Need another excuse to up your heart rate? CITYCENTRE has a calendar full of opportunities to get moving, including the monthly Dancing Under the Stars event. Houston's Next Level Band will kick off the season with lively pop tunes on Saturday, March 29, from 7 to 10 p.m., and Grupo Batachá will bring Caribbean flavor to the plaza with a melodic mix of fiery salsas, sweet boleros, fast merengues and traditional cumbias on Saturday, April 26, from 7 to 10 p.m.
If an exclusive dining and shopping experience is more your speed, check out CITYCENTRE Night Out with CultureMap. For one night only, on Thursday, April 3, from 6 to 10 p.m., retailers and restaurants of CITYCENTRE are invited to showcase an exclusive offer — a discounted signature drink, an extended happy hour special or a sale gift or special offer—and CultureMap editors will be stationed in venues to greet guests and dish on seasonal trends. Look for editor-in-chief and fashion expert Clifford Pugh at Dryden Kreps and in-the-know food writer Eric Sandler at The Tasting Room.
The event is free to attend, although guests are encouraged to RSVP online in advance. Attendees who RSVP will be automatically entered for a chance to win the CITYCENTRE Grand Prize, which includes a stay at Hotel Sorella, dinner and a retail gift certificate. The winner must be present at CITYCENTRE Night Out to receive the package.
On Saturday, April 6, from 12 to 5 p.m., CITYCENTRE's green space will turn into a puppy playground with Doggy Party on the Plaza. The event, sponsored by Houston PetTalk Magazine and MyFuzzbook.com, showcases over 75 of Houston's leading pet providers, including retail shops, resorts, health facilities, food manufacturers, trainers and more.
Bring the family and your four-legged friends for a fun-filled day of live music, activities, Fido-Face Painting, street artists and raffle prizes, plus doggy treats, contests, giveaways and more — and don't miss the rescue dog parade with colorfully themed floats.
The green6.2 celebrates five years on Saturday, April 26, with its biggest event yet. The popular race is also Houston's greenest, with a course winding through nearby neighborhoods before ending on CITYCENTRE's plaza. Registration is $45 for the 10K and $15 for the Kids K.
