Pix of the Day
The most famous kiss in the world is reborn at the Houston Rodeo: How about a sexy dip?
Armed Forces Appreciation Day at RodeoHouston on Wednesday brought free admission, barbecue and a special salute to those who serve our country and their families.
And this kiss, so reminiscent of the iconic 1945 photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt. The Getty Images photographer captured the couple in the middle of New York's Times Square: "A white-clad girl clutches her purse and skirt as an uninhibited sailor plants his lips squarely on hers," LIFE magazine reported.
CultureMap's ace photographer Michelle Watson saw this RodeoHouston couple just after their child participated in the mutton bustin' competition.
"He was in a Navy uniform and she was in the sweetest red and white dress," Watson says. "So, of course, I asked them to dip and kiss for me . . . and they did!"
Pictured are Tim and Jamie Finnen, parents of four children.
