It seems like everyone is ready for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to kickoff this weekend.
That includes Anubis, the 25-foot-tall, 7-ton Egyptian statue standing guard outside of the Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohsexhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
The normally-stoic protector of the dead has been festively accessorized with a bright red bandana and a gilded cowboy belt buckle, just in time for Go Texan Day on Friday.
Where does one acquire accessories of this size? They were specially created by local wedding and event stylist, Darryl & Co.
Anubis will remain decorated in his Texas-proud gear until the King Tut exhibition closes on April 15.
