Skip McGee gets his wish: Kinkaid principal to retire
Mickey Saltman, the Kinkaid Upper School principal who infamously earned the ire of Wall Street tycoon Hugh 'Skip' McGee III, has announced his retirement.
Whether this was a planned decision by Saltman or a reaction to the McGee-penned screed that made its way from the Kinkaid Board of Trustees to newspapers and blogs as far as New York and London is impossible to know. Kinkaid headmaster Don North stated in the announcement that he "had hoped Mr. Saltman would return to Kinkaid for the coming school year," but that he respected Saltman's decision. (Saltman referred us to North, who did not return a request for comment.)
North also announced the resignation of Director of Physical Education, Athletics, and Wellness Cindy Gough, though sources are unsure if she was referenced in the McGee email or if her decision is related to the contretemps.
