Sweet as Pecan Pie
It's official: Houston is decidedly less rude than Dallas (let alone LA)
Los Angelenos are no angels, according to a ranking by Travel + Leisure of the nation's rudest cities. Residents of Los Angeles ranked number one on the magazine's rude-o-meter, followed (unsurprisingly) by denizens of New York City, Philadelphia, Miami and Washington, D.C.
Houston made the top 20, but for a city of our size (read: crowds and traffic) we ranked what we think is a respectable No. 19. Some surprises in the Top 20 included Anchorage at No. 20 and Memphis at No. 13. We'd think Anchorage would just be happy to have visitors and we're shocked at Memphis' apparent lack of Southern charm.
Houston may not always welcome its visitors with Texas-style graciousness, but we did rank first for having the best burgers around.
And we weren't the only Texas city to make the list. Dallas, if you wondered, ranked as the No. 10 rudest city.
