Child's play: Houston Children's Museum is up for another national award
If you ask any young regular at the Children’s Museum of Houston about their favorite exhibit there, you’ll most like hear a friendly barrage of very enthusiastic responses: Kidtropolis! FlowWorks! PowerPlay! And more. Both kids and adults alike tend to love Houston's self-dubbed “Playground for Your Mind.”
And right now through Feb. 17 is every museum fan's opportunity to give a big shout out to the Children's Museum as the "Best Museum for Families" in USA Today’s and 10Best's combined Readers’ Choice Awards.

Housed in a whimsical building designed by internationally acclaimed architect Robert Venturi, the Children’s Museum of Houston offers a multitude of exhibits bursting with action-packed fun that's geared toward engaging kids. A group of Houston parents who hoped to elevate early childhood development to a community wide priority founded the museum in 1980.
The museum now serves more than 850,000 people annually, focusing on bilingual (Spanish/English) learning programs for kids ages birth to 12 years and workshops in literacy, science, math, health, engineering, civic engagement, culture and social studies.
