Get to a Healthier Place
The Houstonian Club welcomes the New Year with a luxurious new design
If your New Year's resolution was to become more fit, here's an extra incentive: The Houstonian Club has a major renovation on tap for 2020-22 that will completely revolutionize the health and fitness facility.
Get ready for even more incredible amenities and a luxurious new design, which all starts with a dramatic new entrance to the upstairs fitness center via an expansive staircase. The lobby and reception areas will boast more seating and places to gather, all flooded with gorgeous natural light that will flow into the existing historical rotunda.
A chic new shopping experience will now be located adjacent to the open and airy atrium for conveniently picking up items on the go, along with a grab-n-go juice bar and gourmet coffee shop.
Those looking to sit down and enjoy a meal after a workout or class can sit back and relax in the indoor-outdoor dining room which overlooks the pools. There will also be an indoor bar and outdoor decks that will allow access to a kid's play area on the family-friendly resort pool side, and to the lap pool on the adult dining side.
But if you're focused on torching a few calories when you first enter, head to the indoor turfed performance zone that's approximately the size of a tennis court. There, you'll find a wider variety of personal training options as well as opportunities for individual member use. Rediscovered archways surrounding the upper fitness center area will allow this space to be seen from below.
A group exercise zone will sport three large, custom-designed studios equipped with state-of-the-art sound, lighting, surfaces, and storage. The elegantly appointed lounge areas give members space to gather prior to classes, as well as a designated space for private yoga lessons and small group sessions.
The Studio 360 and Tred & Shred studios are being combined and relocated, as is the Kids Gym which will move upstairs to the current Studio A space. The light and bright little gym will be surrounded by windows and allow parents and caregivers to easily see both play spaces at once. A custom-designed Ninja-warrior fitness structure is in the plan, as are dual check-in stations and a designated stroller parking area.
The Club's certified trainers will work with the registered dieticians to develop weight management programming, and additional services will be provided by physical therapists (including specialized recovery equipment) in a nearby space.
Perhaps the biggest draw of this massive renovation is one element that isn't changing: The Club's location within The Houstonian on 27 gorgeous, secluded wooded acres in the heart of Houston. Also on the property are several revered restaurants, the award-winning Trellis Spa, and the exceptional accommodations of the Houstonian Hotel.
There are several membership tiers available for The Houstonian Club. Visit the website or call 713-316-2729 to learn more about which membership is right for you.
