See It For Yourself
Casey Anthony adopts a dog, but her viral video is boring, not chilling
"I guess these will be as tedious as my audio recordings have been," opens Casey Anthony in a video that has quickly become a sensation. She's not wrong.
According to the blonde speaking to the camera, whom The Today Show confirmed is Anthony, the video blog was made on Oct. 13 and despite the media declaring that Anthony is "speaking out," it does not appear to have been meant for public consumption.
At least I hope not. If it was, she would probably try to be less shallow and annoying. Instead Anthony gives us the verbal ramblings of what sound like part of mental therapy homework:
I don't know. It's been a long time since I've had something I'm able to call mine, and now that I have something, even as silly as saying that I have a computer, and a camera, and a phone. Granted, I wouldn't have the phone with [redacted] and I've actually now paid for my own computer. The camera was a gift, but these are things that are mine, that I don't— I don't know— that I don't have to give back. It's kind of nice to say that I have things that are mine, that I can take with me after I leave here next year."
It doesn't sound overtly like a call for sympathy, but it does sound like Anthony sees herself as a sort of victim. She never mentions her daughter Caylee and only obliquely references her murder trial, saying she's been at her current location since August (she was acquitted of murdering Caylee in July 2011) and will be until February, when her probation ends. That sounds like she is still in Florida and not in Ohio, as one website claimed.
Anthony also mentions that she has adopted a dog, and considering tales of her plastic surgery and extensive makeover have yet to be heard, it sounds like she's been hiding out away from public life for the past six months. So why record a video that will end up on YouTube? I'm guessing she got hacked somehow, hence the news credit that runs over the video.
Do you think there are more videos to come, and if there were, would you watch them? Or are you just hoping Anthony will go away?
