Fire in the Heights
Second body finally found in rubble of Heights Doll House fire
- A scene from the Heights fire.
- What the Doll House home looked like before being destroyed.
- More than 100 firefighters were on the scene.
The remains of a second person have been found in the rubble at 1135 Heights Boulevard, where a three-alarm fire destroyed the Heights' largest home early Monday morning.
The remains confirm fears that the home's owner, Patty Worthington, an avid doll collector warmly regarded among her community, and her weekend caretaker were both in the home when it burned to the ground. The first body was discovered late Monday afternoon and Worthington's family said it was her. The devastation of the $2 million-home known as the Doll House was so complete that it took another day and a half to locate the remains of a second person. Worthington's caretaker has yet to be identified by name.
One man was able to escape unscathed from a detached garage apartment on the property.
