Salon Style is a two-person exhibition by Houston artist Jason Villegas and Dutch artist Michael Tedja. Transforming the gallery into a salon-style hanging, both artists will occupy the walls with their overloaded histories that are made up and real.

Villegas is known for his hand-crafted fabric works of iconic images taken from pop-culture and ancestral places. Combining his own Mexican/American iconography, Villegas creates imaginative worlds that are colorful and playful but tell a deeper story of individuality. Villegas attended the University of Houston and Rutger's University in New Jersey. In 2009, he was part of the LACMA Phantom Sightings exhibition about contemporary Chicano art.

Tedja comes from a European and Africn background. His images are loaded with hand-drawn and silk-screened themes from various places, often attaching found objects to the works. Tedja studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam.
