So much of creating suspense and terror is dependent upon making a reader invest in characters, in their dilemmas and in their outcome. In this three-hour workshop, guests will work on leading readers down that dark and perilous road. The class will read and study examples of successfully suspenseful passages, participate in writing exercises and share stories to explore the dark areas together.

Participants who register by Feb. 21 are invited to submit up to 2,000 words for a personal reading and review.
