Writespace will present Writefest, a literary journal festival and workshop that will feature the following outstanding faculty:

Fiction - Adrienne Perry, editor of Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts, Kimbilio Fellow at the University of Houston.

Speculative Fiction - Cassandra Rose Clarke, Philip K Dick finalist with work appearing in Strange Horizons, Daily Science Fiction, and Saga Press. Instructor at Lone Star College in Houston.

Flash Fiction - Rebecca Schwab, editor for Leapfrog Press and Crossborder: A Journal of Fiction (Leapfrog Press and Guernica Editions). Her work has appeared in Brevity, Allegro Poetry Magazine, The Future Fire, and Drafthorse.

Poetry - Anis Shivani, Pushcart Prize winner, Harvard graduate. Author of critically acclaimed books of poetry, fiction, and criticism, including My Tranquil War and Other Poems (2012), and Karachi Raj: A Novel (2015).

Creative Nonfiction – Joyce Boatright, author of Telling Your Story: A Basic Guide to Memoir Writing. Instructor at Lone Star College, The Jung Center, and Church Street Retreat.

In addition, Writefest will include a literary journal fair with editors from over 20 nationally-known journals, including McSweeney’s, Brevity, Borderlands, BOOTH, Crab Fat, Nano Fiction, Gulf Coast, and more. The fair will feature panels, presentations, mini-workshops, and more. Writefest is an opportunity for writers to meet journal editors and get published.
