Misha Penton is a contemporary opera singer, artistic director, performance creator and writer. Her work explores the intersection of new music and new opera performance, voice-scape composition and bel canto and extended vocal techniques. She is the founder and artistic director of Divergence Vocal Theater, an ensemble dedicated to collaborative, boundary-pushing performances featuring opera, new music and multi-performing arts.
Penton's teaching and coaching work is informed by contemplative practices, yoga, classical voice technique and theater voice training. Her mentoring specialties focus on individual artistic development for all creatives, contemporary classical voice repertoire interpretation and voice exploration for singers and actors, professional strategies and personal image communication for performing artists, social media management, artist DIY public relations, and comprehensive creative project development from conception to fruition.
