Workshop Houston, a youth development organization that provides unique hands-on creative programs to students in Houston's Third Ward, recognizes individuals whose accomplishments stand as a shining beacon for the ideals and positive life choices toward which Workshop Houston inspires its students. Robert Pruitt's work, both individually and as a founding member of the artist collective Otabenga Jones & Associates, explores the complexity of black identity and has been exhibited at notable venues across the country, including the Whitney Biennial, Studio Museum in Harlem and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
The second annual Lunch Shop fundraising event will feature lunch as well as a taste of Workshop Houston's programs. The fun and lively event will highlight Workshop Houston's creative and effective approach to fostering community and providing at-risk youth with educational support and resources.
