The 5K walk features historic stops as it traces the residential, commercial and park areas along Buffalo Bayou that shape the East End community. The Woods Project is a nonprofit organization that works with Houston-based, low-income students to develop life skills through wilderness education and supports a year-round, after-school environmental/outdoor clubs at area schools. Currently, The Woods Project has 16 school partners and works with more than 600 Houston area students each year.
