Stories are the foundation of a child’s education and imagination. Join Writers in the Schools as they honor F. Xavier Peña, former WITS Board President and community leader, with the 2015 Creativity Award. Xavier was instrumental to the growth of WITS, nurturing a literary culture and expanding quality education for underserved children.

The event will celebrate the stories of WITS students, including a performance by the top-ranked Meta-Four Houston team, and introduce the first-ever Youth Poet Laureate for Houston. The silent auction will include literary experiences, works of art, writing retreats, a photo booth and fun games.

All event proceeds support the WITS program and mission.
