White Oak Music Hall will open the doors to its two indoor music venues, WOMH Upstairs and the Hall at WOMH as part of a 4-day grand opening weekend.
True to the project’s local focus, opening night at WOMH Upstairs will feature artists with strong roots in the Texas music scene – Another Run, Mobley, Peach Kings, and Kay Weathers –
while the Hall hosts an invitation-only sneak peek reception for the new state-of-the-art venue.
As part of the celebration, WOMH is offering free admission to the WOMH Upstairs shows August 18-20. Admission is subject to venue capacity, with a $5 charge for minors.
On Friday, August 19, the venue opens fully to the public, with the Hall featuring Austin-based psych-rockers Black Angels and local openers Telephantom and Rose Ette. On Saturday, August 20, Texas country takes center stage at the Hall with Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, and Quaker City Night Hawks, with WOMH Upstairs hosting locals Night Drive, Bang Bangz, and Young Girls.
The grand opening weekend concludes on Sunday, August 21 with post-rock instrumentalists Explosions in the Sky at the Lawn with long-time favorites Ghostland Observatory starting immediately afterwards in the Hall. Children of Pop will open with a special DJ set featuring fellow locals Josiah Gabriel, Jerk, and Mantra Love
