Whalers is an indie-rock band from Austin. Guitarists Kyle Rother and Dan Martin began writing music together in 2003 while working together at TCU’s radio station in Fort Worth. Moving back to Austin after graduation, the duo formed a trio with Austinite and veteran drummer, Milos Bertram. With the addition of newcomer singer Gus Smalley and bassist Joseph Goessling (later replaced by Amir Mozafari), the group officially became Whalers.

Whalers plainly deliver simple tunes and melodies with undertones of complexity, with just enough pop.
