With song titles like "Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone" and "Woe Is Me," this indie rock band is far from chipper. However, the lyrics of despair don't drag you down. Frontman Hamilton Leithauser delivers with such confidence and crispness (rare in this lo-fi craze) you can't help but cheer him on. The Walkman has had plenty of time to perfect this sound with seven albums and 10 years to their cred.
