Volunteer Houston will present the Greater Houston Service Awards, with Dr. Carolyn Farb being honored as this year’s Impact Award Recipient. Dr. Farb was selected because she exemplifies the essence of public service and volunteerism. She is a native Texan whose passion shines bright throughout the Lone Star State. No one can equal her passion for embracing a cause; she has lived it, breathed it, nurtured it and championed it until others become true believers as well.

The 2016 Greater Houston Service Awards Volunteer Legends celebration will include a luncheon and awards ceremony at Union Station Lobby at Minute Maid Park. The event will begin with a VIP reception at 11 am, followed by the luncheon at 11:30 am.

The Greater Houston Services Awards ceremony has served as a means to recognize the service of our volunteers in Houston. Last year, Volunteer Houston placed over 50,000 volunteers with various 1,200 nonprofit agencies locally who performed 1.2 million hours of service, with an impact of $4.8 million on our region’s economy. The Greater Houston Service Awards functions as a means to capture and recognize this tremendous impact.
