Voices Breaking Boundaries kicks off its 2014-15 Borderlines project with a screening of Zinda Bhaag (Run for Your Life), a 2013 Pakistani Punjabi-language drama film co-directed by Meenu Gaur and Farjad Nabi.

Zinda Bhaag, Pakistan's first official Academy Award entry in more than 50 years, unravels against the theme of "illegal" immigration. The film was constructed out of stories, anecdotes and events that the directors encountered. The film shows the inhumane and dangerous methods that three young men undertake while trying to escape the reality of their everyday lives by crossing borders into foreign lands.
