Virtuosi of Houston, a non-profit arts organization, is a premier youth chamber orchestra celebrating its 21st season of excellence in chamber and jazz music education and performance. The musicians, ages 11 to 18, are from the greater Houston area and are selected from annual auditions. Unlike most youth orchestras, the educational focus of Virtuosi of Houston is on chamber music. The limited size of the orchestra, approximately 55 musicians, requires the young artists to perform at an exemplary level. Franz Anton Krager and Andrzej Grabiec, who are also faculty members of the Moores School of Music, are the Founding Artistic Directors and Conductors of Virtuosi of Houston. The repertoire, which will be announced later, will be chamber music.
