Virtuosi of Houston, a non-profit arts organization, is a youth chamber orchestra celebrating its 20th season of excellence in chamber music education and performance. The musicians, ages 11 to 18, are from the greater Houston area and are selected from annual auditions. Unlike most youth orchestras, the educational focus of Virtuosi of Houston is on chamber music.
The limited size of the orchestra, 50 musicians, requires the young artists to perform at an exemplary level. Franz Anton Krager and Andrzej Grabiec, who are also faculty members of the Moores School of Music, are the Founding Artistic Directors and Conductors of Virtuosi of Houston.
