University of St. Thomas presents Spoon River Anthology

eventdetail

Spoon River Anthology is a play with music by Charles Aidman based on American poet Edgar Lee Masters' work of the same name. Via musical interludes, the audience is introduced to the ghosts of a town whose secrets have gone with them to the grave. A varied array of roles and impersonations — from young lovers, preachers and teachers to the funny chronicles of a confused Jewish man who ends up in the wrong cemetery —  illustrate the serious and humorous sides of life.
