Nino Rota is most remembered for his soundtracks to The Godfather and films directed by Federico Fellini such as La Dolce Vita, Amacord and Casanova. Not as well known is that Rota was also a prolific composer of exquisite concert music. In the last decade, there has been a revival of Rota's "serious" music as his published scores and recordings have become more available.

This concert will juxtapose performances of Rota's cinema and concert music, including works for viola, voice and piano.

The program includes Sonata for Viola and Piano, Intermezzo for Viola and Piano, Suite del Casanova di Federico Fellini, Preludes for Piano, Variations on the Name of B-A-C-H and selections from the films War and Peace, Amarcord, La Dolce Vita and The Godfather.
