Under the direction of Dr. Blake Wilkins, the Moores School Percussion Ensemble I presents a program featuring some of the newest and most provocative works for percussion ensemble, including Michael Laurello’s “Spine,” Isaac Schankler’s “Blindnesses,” “Kyoto” by New Zealander John Psathas, “Twilight” by Swedish composer Tobias Broström, John Wyre’s “Marubatoo” and Thierry de Mey’s visually fascinating “Musique de Table.” The concert will also feature Wilkins’ own epic work for large percussion ensemble, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its premiere.
