The University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, in collaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the holiday favorite, Unsilent Night, the annual interactive event.

Unsilent Night is a soundscape created when many individuals simultaneously play one of four different tracks on their smartphone, boomboxes, or mp3 players. Unsilent Night takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer. Revelers will walk a carefully chosen route beginning at The Water Works, a new site along the Buffalo Bayou. Each participant receives one of four tracks of the composition that can easily be downloaded on your smart phone prior to your arrival. When participants play their different “parts” together, it helps to create the special sound of the piece.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company and Katz Coffee will be providing complimentary beverages and the Fusion Taco truck will have food available for purchase. There will also be a costume contest for the most "lit" outfit so attendees are encouraged to dress festive.
