A collaborative project of Sterling Allen, Tim Brown, Peat Duggins, Justin Goldwater, Nathan Green, Ryan Hennessee, Josh Rios, Carlos Rosales-Silva, Michael Sieben and Corkey Sinks, Okay Mountain began as an alternative gallery space, moving into a collective when members began creating art together outside their space. This discussion will center on their installation First Take, on view from Jan. 15 to April 2 at the Blaffer Art Museum. Playing on conventions and absurdities of the modern consumer, Okay Mountain uses pop graphics and styling to create works that are scrappy, colorful and "maximal," in their own words.
