The East End Maker Hub/TXRX Grand Opening will be showcasing an Artist Technology Residency.

James Templeton, Christine Alexander, and Steven Alexander will be presenting a conceptual understanding of the shared physical reality evident in expressions of number. Through the exploration of TXRX's fabrication toolset, these artists were offered engineering guidance, fabrication and skills training classes, along with financial assistance and a studio build environment to construct their works over a four-month in-house residency.

Pieces will investigate arithmetic, geometry, music and space, in mixed media formats. Work will showcase laser cutting, metalworking and fabrication technologies, powder coating, sandblasting, wood working, electronics, 3D printing SLA, vacuum forming, 3D modeling, welding, ceramics, and water jet glass.

Music includes Ryan Hollaway, a sound designer that will be utilizing space recordings and Andrew Baker, a hand pan artist, in an ethereal joint performance. Select pieces from the Houston Arts Alliance's Individual Artist Grant and Archway Gallery will be on view.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through July 17.
