Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing Jewish Meditation with Henry Abramovitch

eventdetail
Hickey Robertson

In this contemplative session, guests will examine Talmudic text and use the practice of active imagination to explore the Jewish concepts of "tikkun" (repair) and "tikkun olam," which means "repairing the world" or "cosmic repair." Based on the idea that the world was not created but is in the continuous process of creation, repairing the world is part of humanity's ongoing task of restoring moral balance.

Henry Abramovitch is founding president of the Israel Institute of Jungian Psychology where he is senior training analyst as well as professor at Tel Aviv Medical School. He is author of The First Father, Abraham: Psychology and Culture of a Spiritual Revolutionary.

The series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center of Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Rothko Chapel.
