Lizzie is based on the real life times and trial of Lizzie Borden, the girl referenced in the popular jump rope rhyme, "Lizzie Borden took and axe and gave her mother 40 whacks, when she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41." This musical theater piece launches Theatre Under the Stars' new performance series at Zilkha Hall, TUTS Underground, which promises to present works suitable for contemporary-minded audiences.
