Former Houston Ballet star and choreographer Trey McIntyre brings his contemporary ballet company to Houston for the first time. McIntyre has won numerous grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and has choreographed for the New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater.
His Trey McIntyre Project was formed in 2008 and is known for incorporating classical and contemporary music into their performances, including jazz and native Blackfoot pow-pow music as well as tunes by Paul Simon, Nina Simone and The Polyphonic Spree.
Expect to see unusual props, tributes to nature and what The Boston Globe calls "one of the hottest choreographers in the dance world."
