Tour de Houston presented by Apache Corporation is an annual fundraising bike ride. The severe drought conditions of 2012 that spread throughout Texas left dramatic scares on Houston's green spaces continuing the need to repopulate parks and greenbelts with trees. Funds raised from this year's ride will again benefit Houston's continued reforestation efforts through its nonprofit partner Houston Parks Board, dedicated to creating, improving and protecting parklands in the greater Houston region.

While the event is a fundraising ride, it also serves as a recommended training ride for the BP MS 150 and is ideal for all cyclist levels offering three ride options – 20-mile, 40-mile and 60-mile routes. The event begins and ends at City Hall and volunteers and participants will enjoy a post-ride party in Hermann Square.
