Sawyer Yards will present "Betweentimes," a solo exhibition of colorful works by Silos artist Marthann Masterson.
Masterson's large and colorful paintings are delightfully immersive. Composed by layering marks into dense fields of lines, her works have depth, and evoke the feeling of being suspended within or amid planes and spaces. She embraces exploration and allows process to lead, arriving at this visual language, as she describes, "guided by fate." The whole endeavor is transcendent, and stops when Masterson arrives at place of "visual harmony" and "awakening."
Masterson studied painting at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. She currently works out of studio #202 at the Silos at Sawyer Yards.
The exhibition will be on view in Bay 300 Gallery of the Silos at Sawyer Yards through May 30.
