Sawyer Yards presents "Canal Street Studios: Satellite Showcase," an exhibition of works by the current resident studio artists of Canal Street Studios, one of Houston's long standing independent artist-run studio buildings in the city's East End. The showcase brings two of Houston's studio communities together to increase mutual awareness and visibility, co-inspire, and develop opportunities for collaboration.
Canal Street Studios is a private visual arts studio nestled in the middle of Houston's vibrant Second Ward neighborhood, and is home base for some of Houston's most established artists. Housed within a converted 1940s warehouse, the building consists of 10 studio workspaces.
Participating artists in the exhibition include Royal Sumikat, Lana Barake, Anat Ronen, Sylvia Blanco, Greg Cote, Ned Gayle, Gerard Harrison, Color Oner 713, Iram 7, Kyler Sommer, Patricia Ramirez, Jose "Meenr" Arredondo, Black Cassidy, and Nacho Sanchez.
Following the opening reception, the exhibition will be on display through November 18.
